Lychee is a succulent fresh fruit within the soapberry family; it's the most cultivated fruit in southern Taiwan. The lychee fruit consists of sweet layered white-coloured flesh, covering a brown seed.
The benefits of eating lychee:
- Aids Digestion: The significant amount of dietary fibre in lychee increases your digestive health and helps to regulate bowel movement by ensuring its smooth passage through the digestive tract.
- Boosts Immunity: Lychee is rich in Vitamin C, with more than 100 percent of the recommended daily amount of vitamin C in one cup. This means that your immune system gets a major boost, as vitamin C is a primary antioxidant compound and is known to stimulate the activity of white blood cells, which are the main defensive line of your body’s immune system.
- Controls Blood Pressure: Lychee has a wealth of potassium, which helps to lower blood pressure by balancing out the negative effects of salt.
- Healthy bones: Lychee has a good amount of copper, which is necessary for a healthy immune system and healthy bones. Copper also works with iron to create blood cells and reduce the risk of anemia.
The best lychee breed:
